Natuurmuseum Brabant is a family museum about the life of plants and animals, with a funny twist. Whether you are 3 or 83, you get up close and personal with nature surroundings and the world!
Wandering through the museum repository, where you can discover and explore nature domains. We're reffering to the OO-ZONE. But even more exciting: you can touch some of the objects here! Go on a digital expedition and discover everything about traces of crime, birds & airplanes and what is worn on Nature's catwalk. With your explorer's pass, you take the materials out of the showcase drawers yourself.
In the Potviszaal [whale hall] the centerpiece is an enormous skeleton of, you guessed it, a gigantic whale. Impressive to see!
In Ijstijd [the ice age] you can hunt a mammoth, meet the Neanderthals Oeg and Noezal and make primitive tools yourself under the watchful eye of a sabretooth tiger and a woolly rhino.
Wolves, Jeroen Bosch and landscapes
In the exhibit The Real Wolf, you get to know the wolf better and you can test your wolf knowledge. Perhaps you can get a wolf tattoo in the ‘tattoo shop’!
The landscape exhibition Brabant in de Ban van Buiten [Brabant under the influence of the outdoors] displays the flora and fauna of this magnificent province. The exhibit Animals of Jeroen Bosch is concerned solely with animals: what did the famous painter from Brabant mean by putting thousands of animals in his paintings?
Finally, you can discover everything about the differences between men and women in Hoezo Seks? [what do you mean, sex?]. Next to it, you find the cosy Kikkerzaal, with games and the hut of the green hero of Max Velthuijs, Kikker!
In the museum there is always an exciting, free discovery tour, a comfortable café (with e.g. a toasted crocodile sandwich and cupcakes to decorate yourself) and a shop full of souvenirs. The museum is located across from Tilburg Centraal railway station and the bus station. Curiosity aroused?
