For over 100 years Landpark Assissië has been a true metropolis for new developments, especially in the care for people with disabilities. It all started in 1904 with "Huize Assissië" which started caring for people with a mental disability.
Back in the day, monks took care of boys and men with a mental disability. In this way they could provide them with specialized care 24/7. A pavilion and church were built on these grounds in 1909. This organisation still takes care of people with mental disabilities to this day, men as well as women. Assissië strives to give their clients a comfortable environment which is connected to society.
Today, over 200 people with a mental disability continue to live here. Landpark Assissië still has enough room to develop new, special and sustainable initiatives which connect with modern day society.
